WHAT IS PEERFORWARD?
Q: What is a PeerForward Workshop?
PeerForward Workshops train student leaders to navigate the college application process and use their knowledge to increase college enrollment and build a strong college‑going culture at their schools.
This experience is more than a college access initiative — it is a leadership accelerator. And none of it would be possible without volunteers like you.
Q: Who are the students we work with?
Peer Leaders from across the United States and Bermuda participate in our workshops.
We welcome students from: New York, Florida, Michigan, California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the island of Bermuda.
Many students come from first‑generation college‑going, rural, or under‑resourced backgrounds.

Q: Will PeerForward cover my travel expenses?
No. Volunteers are responsible for their own travel expenses.
Q: Do volunteers receive training?
Yes. Volunteers receive comprehensive support, including:
- Pre‑workshop volunteer training
- In‑person or virtual training at the start of the workshop
- Guidance from the Director of Writing Coaching or Director of College Coaching
- Check‑ins and team meetings throughout the 4‑day workshop
Q: What should I bring to the Workshop?
Once you have been assigned to your Workshop, you’ll receive a packing list recommending what you should bring. If you are a College Coach, your role will be virtual.
