The following materials are intended to support Youth Activation teams comprised of students and adults as they tackle college access and related challenges in their communities. While each product may be used independently, they are designed as a cohesive collection to support schools along a continuum of Youth Activation.

Youth Activation Guide

This guide offers background research and rationale for the importance of authentic youth-adult partnerships. It clarifies the terms of Youth Activation (YA) and provides real-world examples of YA in action.

Youth Activation Culture Framework

This quick assessment enables schools and organizations to identify a baseline for the Youth Activation culture at their school. Teams can identify areas of strength and refine opportunities for improvement to help focus their efforts moving forward.

College-Going Culture Framework

This quick assessment enables schools and organizations to identify a baseline for the college-going culture at their school. Teams can identify areas of strength and refine opportunities for improvement to help focus their efforts moving forward.

Problem Identification Worksheet

This worksheet supports teams as they identify the top challenges their schools are facing. It provides a framework for teams to define the problem and reflect on the current data.

Needs Assessment Template

The Needs Assessment helps teams break down the challenge they’ve identified in the Problem Identification Worksheet to better address the needs or “gaps” between the current situation and their desired conditions. With this deeper understanding, teams can plan the action steps necessary to bridge the gap.

SMART Goal Scoring Sheet

SMART goals are critical in effecting change and bridging the gaps identified In the Need Assessment. This SMART goal template helps teams craft and refine robust and actionable SMART goals.

Data Collection

This PowerPoint offers teams guidance as they define a data collection plan to support their efforts in addressing the needs identified in the Problem Identification and Need Assessment worksheets.

Data Scoreboard

This workbook provides a template for teams to record and analyze their data as they work towards achieving their SMART goal.
