Peer influence powers PeerForward.
So does your generosity.
We are grateful for your gift to PeerForward. Thanks to your donation, our trained Peer Leaders across the country are building college-going cultures in their high schools.
Tapping the power of peers – a resource found in every high school in America – is what makes us unique, and we believe youth can be activated in all high schools in low-income communities to improve higher education attainment. Your gift helps teams of high school juniors and seniors promote the steps that have been shown to lead to college enrollment and success.
For example, the Peer Leaders team up so that every student in the school creates a plan linking his or her career aspirations to high school graduation and postsecondary education. They also organize events so families can get help applying for financial aid and campaign to get classmates to apply to at least three higher education institutions.
We know it works. In the 2016-17 school year, for example, PeerForward high schools had a 26% higher rate of financial aid applications than similar schools without the program, according to independent researchers. The impact? Students in PeerForward schools unlocked $13M more in grants to pay for school.
